Wi‑Fi controllers for props, displays, and shows

Sound, light, and motion — triggered by your visitors, recorded by you.

ShowMatic controllers turn a button press, motion sensor, or beam break into synchronized sound, lights, and movement. Record a scene by performing it — on the device, on your phone, or on a timeline — then check on every controller from anywhere.

Wi‑Fi and Cloud are optional. Every scene lives on the controller and keeps running when the network doesn’t.

How it works

No programming language. You perform the scene once, and it plays back that way every time.

Every Pico controller follows the same model: something triggers it, a scene plays, and you can watch it from your phone.

1

Wire a trigger and some outputs

Two optically isolated inputs accept almost any sensor. Outputs drive the things that move, light up, and make noise.

  • Buttons, pressure mats, motion and beam sensors
  • Solenoid valves, LEDs, relays, DC motors
  • Built-in MP3 playback and amplifier on audio models
2

Upload a sound, press Record, perform

Tap the outputs in time with the audio. Layer one output at a time. Redo a pass without losing the rest.

  • On the device with its buttons
  • On your phone with a live keypad
  • On a desktop timeline, drawing or in real time
3

It plays back in sync, every trigger

Scenes for Input 1, Input 2, and an idle loop. Set post-delays, looping, what plays next, and whether a scene can be interrupted.

  • Scene stored on the controller, not in the cloud
  • Write-protect so nobody re-records it by accident
4

Know it’s working, from anywhere

Last seen, uptime, supply voltage, temperature, Wi‑Fi signal, and how many times each device fired tonight.

  • Test any output from your phone while standing at the prop
  • Air-pressure history and low-pressure lockout with PicoLink
The lineup

Five controllers. Same app, same workflow, different outputs.

Pick by what you need to switch. Every model has built-in Wi‑Fi, runs from 12 or 24 VDC, and can be programmed with or without a network.

PicoLite controller
Part 162

PicoLite

Compact. Connected. Capable.

The smallest Pico. Two inputs, two solid-state outputs, no audio — for lights, valves, and distributed effects that need reliable control and network visibility.

  • 2 inputs · 2 solid-state outputs
  • No onboard audio
  • 9–28 VDC
PicoPro controller
Part 160

PicoPro

Scalable solid-state outputs with sound.

The workhorse. MP3 playback, a built-in amplifier, and up to eight solid-state outputs for multi-output animated scenes with synchronized audio.

  • 2 inputs · up to 8 solid-state outputs
  • MP3 · 10 MB + microSD · stereo amp
  • 9–26 VDC
PicoRelay controller
Part 164

PicoRelay

Flexible outputs with built-in audio.

Four mechanical relays with NO/NC contacts for loads that have their own power, mixed voltages, AC, fog machines, or anything expecting a contact closure.

  • 2 inputs · 4 relay outputs (C/NO/NC)
  • MP3 · 10 MB + microSD · stereo amp
  • 9–26 VDC
PicoDrive controller
Part 163

PicoDrive

Motor control for DC props.

A dedicated DC motor output with speed, direction, and optional park-switch homing so a lid, door, or figure returns to the same position every time. Plus two relays and audio.

  • 2 inputs · 1 motor output · 2 relays
  • Park detection · dimmable-light mode
  • MP3 · stereo amp · 9–26 VDC
PicoLink pressure transmitter
Part 170

PicoLink

Intelligent air management.

Publishes compressed-air pressure to the whole system. Other controllers subscribe and pause non-critical effects when pressure drops, so your important ones fire at full power.

  • 4–20 mA pressure sensor input
  • Channels: one publisher, many subscribers
  • Pressure history in the app · 9–24 VDC

App & Cloud

One app for the bench, the floor, and the couch.

Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Program a controller on your desk, test it from your phone in front of the prop, and check on the whole system from home.

Record on a timeline, or live with your keyboard

The desktop editor shows the audio waveform above one row per output. Draw with the mouse, or enable real-time control and tap the number keys while the sound plays. The outputs on the actual device fire as you press.

  • Layer one output at a timeDisable outputs you’re happy with; they play back while you record the rest.
  • Scene and show settings in one placeInput types, inverts, strobe modes, volumes, post-delays, what plays next.
  • Protect scenesLock a finished scene so the Record button and app edits can’t change it.

Every device, its health, and how hard it worked tonight

Green dot means it’s alive. Tap in for last seen, uptime, voltage, temperature, and signal strength. Insights graphs activations per device and air pressure over the evening, so you can spot the prop that stopped firing at 9 pm — or the compressor that couldn’t keep up.

  • A keypad in your pocketFire each output one at a time, or trigger the whole scene, while standing in front of it.
  • InsightsActivation counts, pressure history, Wi‑Fi RSSI — filtered by device, model, or time range.
  • Locations and sharingGroup controllers by site and share a location with a technician as view-only or full access.

Cloud

You’re somewhere else. Traffic goes up to ShowMatic Cloud and down to the device. Monitor and manage from anywhere.

Local

The app is on the same network as the device. Fast file transfers and real-time programming through your own router.

Direct

No Wi‑Fi at all. The controller hosts its own network; your phone or laptop joins it. Outdoor events, remote installs, quick jobs.

Offline first. Scenes and sounds live on the controller. Disable wireless entirely and program with the onboard buttons, or connect over USB. Nothing about playback depends on the internet.

Who it’s for

Anywhere someone walks up and something should happen.

Trigger-driven scenes are the sweet spot: a visitor arrives, a sensor fires, and sound and motion play in sync.

Themed attractions and escape rooms

Animated figures, room gags, and resettable mechanical props that fire on a sensor and play in sync with sound — and tell you when one stops responding.

Museums, science centers, and exhibits

Push-button stations that answer with sound, light, and motion. See which exhibits are being used and which need attention.

Holiday and seasonal displays

Scenes that trigger when visitors approach, recorded by performing them, running from the controller with or without Wi‑Fi.

Retail, trade shows, and events

Window and booth displays you can adjust, re-time, or re-voice from your phone without a site visit.

Prop builders and installers

Program over USB or direct Wi‑Fi, ship write-protected, and let the customer adopt the device later under their own account.

Theaters, schools, and churches

Simple cues, props, and effects without a full show-control stack. A volunteer can trigger and check them from a phone.

Building props for someone else?

Don’t adopt the controller. Upload the sound and record the scene over USB or the device’s own Wi‑Fi, rename it to match the prop, and write-protect it. Your customer adopts it into their own account when it arrives.
