Privacy Policy for ShowMatic

This Privacy Policy explains how ShowMatic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ShowMatic mobile application (“App”) and associated services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, first name, and last name. Your email is used as your login identifier.

Authentication & Session Data

We store session tokens to keep you logged in across devices. For each active session we record the device name you provide, your public (WAN) IP address at the time of login, and the date your session was last active.

Push Notification Token

If you grant permission for push notifications, we store a device token issued by Google (FCM) or Apple (APNs) so we can send you alerts about your devices. You may revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Device Telemetry

ShowMatic manages IoT hardware devices registered to your account. We collect and store operational data reported by those devices, including sensor readings (e.g., pressure levels), online/offline status, Wi-Fi signal strength, and device serial numbers. This data is associated with your account.

Location Names

You may create named “locations” to organize your devices. We store the names you provide.

3. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Access

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi access solely to provision new IoT devices during initial setup. This involves connecting to a device’s temporary wireless hotspot to transmit Wi-Fi credentials to it. We do not collect, store, or transmit any information about nearby Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi networks, or your physical location. These permissions are used only during the device setup process and only with your explicit interaction.

4. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google)

Transactional Email

We use a third-party email service solely to send login verification codes. No marketing or promotional email is sent.

We do not integrate any analytics platforms, advertising networks, or social media SDKs.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Device telemetry data is retained for a rolling period sufficient to display historical charts and trends within the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8).

Active sessions are retained until you explicitly log out or they are revoked. You can view and revoke all active sessions from the Account section of the App.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). Session tokens are stored server-side and are never exposed in URLs. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

7. Children’s Privacy

ShowMatic is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
